Wireless troubleshooting

For homes with a WiConnect antenna on the roof.

Do not press the reset button on any WiConnect equipment. A reset erases the settings and a technician will have to come out.

  1. Restart your Wi-Fi router Unplug the router's power, wait 10 seconds, plug it back in. Give it two minutes. Router software locks up more often than anything else.
  2. Find the POE adapter A small black box, about 3 inches long, with a power cord on one end and two Ethernet cables plugged into the other. It powers the antenna on your roof.
  3. Power-cycle the POE adapter Unplug it for 5 seconds and plug it back in. Make sure both Ethernet cables are pushed fully in until they click. This restarts the antenna.
  4. Wait two minutes, then test Load a website on a device connected to your Wi-Fi.

Still down?
